KarmaFX Synth Demotune by Atom Sessions!

Fernando Hood aka Atom Sessions has shared a seriously cool demo track made almost exclusively using KarmaFX Synth Modular. Atom Sessions is an audio experiment with deep influences from IDM, Psychill, Dub, Glitch. The man behind the name is Fernando Hood, graphics designer and music producer, born in Portugal.

Fernando writes:

KarmaFX Synth Modular 1.18 released!

KarmaFX Synth Modular v1.18, Build 6063 is now out for both PC and Mac. Full install is required.

This update contains important bugfixes and some brand new modules: Two new filters (MS20 and EQ3) and two new effects (PanSpread and Maximizer), as well as some new patch banks. Get it using your regular download link or by right-clicking and choosing "Check for Update Now..." inside the synth.

New KarmaFX Synth demotune by Omnivox!

Tomislav alias Omnivox, a psy/goa trance producer from Zagreb/Croatia, has generously produced a really cool demotune entirely using KarmaFX Synth Modular. Omnivox explains that the track was created using just tweaked factory presets available in the synth! “ I adore your KarmaFX synth, and I've been using it a lot in my music, especially kick and bass banks (like that's a surprise). Yesterday I came up with the idea to make a track with only KarmaFX synth, to show the community what a great tool it is. Anyway, I am sending you a track I wrote in last 2 hours, ... I only used outside EQ to mildly eq sound groups (percussions and lead/fx groups), apart from that all effects are within synths themselves. There are 21 instances of the synth, and they generate all the sounds, including percussions. ”

Computer Music Magazine dives into Modular Synthesis

The December issue of Computer Music is now available and worth checking out as it packs a huge modular synthesis cover feature! KarmaFX Synth Modular is mentioned and featured in the issue, where the synth is used for some nice modular sample mangling. Video tutorial material is also available.

Modular Synthesis Primer - KarmaFX Synth featured in Computer Music Magazine

The March issue of Computer Music (page 55) takes a deep dive into Modular Synthesis, using KarmaFX Synth Modular for building a fully modular synthesizer patch in an easy to follow step-by-step tutorial. The primer is a good read, especially if you are new to modular synthesis.

CM writes:

KarmaFX Synth Modular 1.17 released!

KarmaFX Synth Modular v1.17 released.

Synth now comes in a 32 bit and 64 bit version. Full install is required.
Registered users will receive their download links by email ASAP. Until then, the previous RC1 download link will work just as well.
On Mac, currently only one version (32 or 64 bit Audio Unit) can be installed at a time.
The demo version, downloadable from the product page, is now also available in both 32 and 64 bit.

All registered users have received an email with the release candidate download link for v1.17 RC1 build 6043.
32 bit and 64 bit installers are available for both PC and Mac.

If you feel brave and want to take it for a spin in your favorite 64 bit or 32 bit host, please download and try it out.
However, please note that this is not the final version. A stable, final version will (hopefully) be released very soon. Stay tuned! Update 08/06-2013: KarmaFX Synth 1.17 RC1 updated to build 6044 on Win32/64.

CR-78 kick drums - KarmaFX Synth featured in Computer Music Magazine

In the July issue of Computer Music, Scot Solida delves further into the wonders of the Roland CR-78 beatbox, recreating its bass drum, all using the modules in KarmaFX Synth Modular.

Scot writes:

KarmaFX Synth Modular v1.16 has been updated to build 6033. Only Mac users of Presonus Studio One 2 will need to upgrade. As this is a minor update, there is no version change.
